How to save recipes from websites on Android
Bookmarking a recipe means scrolling past ads and a long story every time you cook. The easiest way to keep recipes on Android is to pull just the ingredients and steps from the link into a recipe keeper app, so all your recipes are in one place.
Three ways to save a recipe
- Browser bookmarks: free, but the page can change or disappear, and you can't see ingredients on their own.
- Screenshots or a notes app: works offline, but no search and no serving scaling.
- A recipe keeper app: share the link and get ingredients and steps you can search, file and cook from.
Saving from a link, step by step
- Open the recipe page in your browser and tap Share.
- Pick your recipe app (for example Recipot) from the share sheet, or copy the link and paste it in.
- Check the imported ingredients and steps, fix anything, and save it to a folder.
When the recipe isn't detected
Most big recipe sites embed structured recipe data in the page, but many personal blogs don't. In that case, copy the ingredients and method from the post and paste the text. A good app splits it line by line into ingredients and steps.
Doing it with Recipot
Recipot imports from a shared or pasted link, and when a page isn't detected it splits pasted recipe text into ingredients and steps. Every imported recipe is editable, duplicates are flagged, and there is no recipe limit or account.
