How to back up your reading log before switching phones
Short answer: a reading tracker without an account keeps your log only on the phone, so you need to export a backup file before switching. Move the file through Google Drive or email, import it on the new phone, and your books, reads and notes come back.
Why switching phones can lose your log
No-login apps don't keep your data on a server. That's good for privacy, but uninstalling the app or resetting the phone deletes the log too.
Android device backup sometimes carries app data over, but not reliably, so a separate backup file is the safe route.
Step by step
Do this before you reset the old phone.
- On the old phone, tap 'Export backup file' in the app's settings.
- Save the file somewhere the new phone can reach, like Google Drive or email.
- Install the app on the new phone and choose 'Import backup file' in settings.
- Check the book count and recent notes, then reset the old phone.
