Is there a daily swipe limit or a waiting timer?

No. There is no swipe cap and no cooldown of any length. Clean as many photos as you want in one sitting.

Do I need a subscription or premium to delete photos?

No. Deleting, reviewing, the trash screen and the screenshots and big videos decks are all free. The app is supported by ads.

Do I have to tap Allow for every photo I delete?

No. Tidyroll collects everything you marked in a month and shows a single Android system confirmation. One tap moves all of it to the trash.

What if it deletes photos I didn't select?

Before anything moves, you see every photo you marked in a review grid and can tap any of them to keep it. Even after that, items sit in the trash for 30 days and can be restored.

Can I get back photos I deleted by mistake?

Does it work with Google Photos?

Tidyroll cleans photos stored on this device. Photos that exist only in Google Photos or another cloud are not touched. If a photo was backed up, deleting the device copy may leave the cloud copy, so check the Google Photos app separately.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. There is no account and no server. All cleaning happens on your phone and your photos are never sent anywhere.

Can I stop halfway and continue later?

How to restore deleted photos from the Android trash

Short answer: on Android 10 and later, most deleted photos aren't erased right away. They sit in the trash for 30 days. Open the trash (or Recently deleted) in your gallery app, select the photos and tap Restore to put them back in their original album. After 30 days, or if the trash was emptied, they can't be recovered from the device.

Where the trash is

In Samsung Gallery it's the menu (≡) at the bottom right → Trash. In Google Photos it's Collections (or Library) → Trash. On other phones it's often Recently deleted at the bottom of the album list.

If the trash is turned off in your gallery settings, deleted photos are erased immediately. Check it's on before a big clean-up.

Restoring, step by step

The steps are nearly identical in every gallery app.

Open the trash (Recently deleted) in your gallery app.
Long-press a photo to select it, and tap any others you want back.
Tap Restore.
Check the original album (usually Camera) to confirm the photos are back.

When a photo isn't in the trash

If the app you used deletes permanently, photos never pass through the trash. That's behind reviews like "it deleted the pictures I didn't select and there wasn't any way to get them back" and "Wish the app had a recently deleted".

If the photo was backed up to Google Photos, a cloud copy may still be in Google Photos or its own trash.

After 30 days, or once the trash is emptied, the device can't bring it back. That's why it's worth choosing tools that always delete to the trash.
