Novena start dates to finish before each feast day

Many novenas are prayed to prepare for a saint's feast. To make Day 9 fall on the eve of the feast, start nine days before it. For St. Jude (October 28), that means starting on October 19.

Fixed-date feasts only. Movable feasts like the Sacred Heart and Pentecost change every year, so check your parish calendar.
