Are all the novenas really free?

Yes. All 24 novenas are open from the start with no subscription and nothing locked. The app is supported by ads.

Can I pray without internet?

Yes. The prayers are inside the app, so after install they open without Wi-Fi.

What happens if I miss a day?

Next time you open it you can continue where you left off or restart from Day 1. Tradition says to start again, but the choice is yours.

Can I pray more than one novena at a time?

Yes. Each novena keeps its own progress and its own reminder time.

When should I start to finish before a feast day?

On a novena's page, choose "Before the feast" and Novenly sets the start date so Day 9 is the eve of the feast.

Can anyone see my intention?

No. There is no account, and intentions and progress are saved only on your phone. An invite is only sent if you share it yourself.

Can I pray to a saint who is not listed?

Yes. Use "Create your own novena" to write your own prayer and choose 3, 5, 7, 9, 30 or 54 days.

How to pray a novena for free, even offline

The most common complaints in novena app reviews are "Pay to pray?" and "I can't pray without WiFi". A novena is prayed for nine days in a row, so the prayer needs to open instantly, wherever you are.

Five checks for a novena app

You can check all five within five minutes of installing.

1. The novena you want opens without paying
2. Prayers still show in airplane mode
3. Progress and reminders survive without logging in
4. Each novena can have its own reminder time
5. Prayer text can be made larger

Without an app

A prayer book or your parish bulletin and nine boxes on a calendar work well too. Pray at the same time each day and tick a box, so you never lose track of which day you are on.

In Novenly

Novenly opens all 24 traditional novenas for free, and the prayers live inside the app so they open without Wi-Fi. There is no account, so nothing logs you out. Set a time for each novena and you get a daily "Day 4 of 9" reminder.

Novenly's prayers are written by Novenly in the spirit of traditional Catholic devotions. They are not official liturgical texts; follow your parish's guidance too.
