How to Keep Temporary Photos Out of Your Gallery
Open your gallery and between the vacation shots sit Wi-Fi passwords, shipping labels, receipts and parking pillars. These photos are essential when you take them and worthless a few days later. The trouble is deleting them — every one needs a 'can I delete this?' decision, so they never get deleted. The fix isn't a better cleanup method; it's not putting them in the gallery in the first place.
Why throwaway photos pile up
Camera apps are built on the assumption that every photo matters. Each shot goes straight into the gallery and often into cloud backup, so a photo you need for an afternoon is treated exactly like a photo from your wedding. Sorting hundreds of them later means judging each one, and that judgment cost is why cleanup never happens.
Option 1: Sort them into an album
Create a 'Temp' album in your gallery app and move photos there. Free and immediate, but it adds a move step to every shot and deletion is still manual. Within days you stop moving them.
Option 2: Attach them to a notes app
For text-heavy photos like Wi-Fi codes, many people paste them into a notes app. Search is the upside, but creating a note and a title for every photo is friction, and it doesn't suit photos where the image itself matters — receipts, parking spots.
Option 3: Use a separate camera for temporary photos
