How to take a front and back camera photo at the same time on Android

1. There are two ways this actually happens

On an Android 11+ phone with concurrent camera support, both the front and back preview update live on screen, and tapping the shutter captures both at once. You get the result immediately.

On phones without that support, the shot happens in sequence: the back photo is taken first, a 1-3 second countdown runs, then the front photo is taken, and the two are merged automatically. The only difference is there's no live preview — the saved result is still one photo with both sides.

2. Choosing a layout

Pick whichever of the three layouts fits the shot.

• Picture-in-picture (PiP): a small frame over a large one — good when you want the background to stand out
• Top-bottom: the screen split into upper and lower halves — good for showing both scenes equally
• Side-by-side: the screen split left and right — works well for portrait-orientation shots
• You can change the layout again after taking the photo, so it's fine to shoot first and decide later

3. Choosing which camera is the main view

In PiP layout, you can swap which camera is the large frame and which is the small one with a single tap. Put the back camera front and center for a landscape, or the front camera front and center for a reaction shot.

4. How to shoot it in Bothshot
