FAQ
Do I need to log in or create an account?
No. Open the app and start logging. There is no login screen at all, and your data stays on your phone.
Is it free to add more than one car?
Yes. There is no vehicle limit and every feature is free. The app is supported by ads.
Will my MPG be wrong if I don't fill the tank all the way?
No. Mark it as a partial fill-up and the fuel is added to the next full-tank interval. MPG is only calculated from full tank to full tank.
I forgot to log a fill-up. What now?
Tick "missed a fill-up" on your next entry. That interval is left out of the average, and everything after it is accurate again.
Can I log only the total I paid?
Yes. Enter any two of price per unit, amount and total, and Tankbook calculates the third.
Will I lose my data when I change phones?
Not if you export. Export to CSV in Settings and import it on the new phone. The file also opens in Excel or Google Sheets.
Can I use L/100km or km/L instead of MPG?
Yes. Each vehicle has its own distance unit, fuel unit (liters, US or UK gallons) and economy format.
Can I track service, parking and tolls too?
Yes. Log service, car wash, parking, tolls, insurance and other costs, and see lifetime totals in Stats.
